ZF has secured new customer orders worth €5 billion, reinforcing its market position in electrified driveline technologies, particularly in Europe. The company expects its production of electric drive systems for commercial vehicles to double over the next 12 months, with further growth anticipated in Asia-Pacific and North America. It has noted increasing demand for its eWorX electric power take-off solution and its new cubiX chassis software, which was released in June 2024.

At the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover, Germany, Markus Heyn, Member of the ZF Board of Management, emphasised the company's technology-neutral approach in transitioning commercial vehicles to alternative powertrains.

The company is presenting its latest innovations in electrification, automation, and safety at the show. It highlights products such as its e-mobility platform, the TrailTrax e-trailer concept, cubiX chassis software, and the latest version of the OnGuardMAX emergency braking assistance system.

In addition to its electrification solutions, the company is also focusing on safety systems. The OnGuardMAX emergency brake assistant and a new lane change assistant for trucks are part of its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), with ZF projecting a 20% growth in this sector by 2030.

ZF is also showcasing its modular e-mobility platform and the TrailTrax concept for electrifying semi-trailers, which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 16%. The company further presents its TraXon 2 hybrid transmission, initially developed for passenger cars and adapted for commercial vehicles.

With the strategic acquisitions of TRW and WABCO, ZF has expanded its portfolio and strengthened its ability to create synergies within the commercial vehicle sector.
