ZELIO E Mobility Ltd has announced an expansion of its dealership network across India in a move aimed at strengthening its presence in the growing electric three-wheeler market. From its current base of 28 dealerships operating in seven states, ZELIO plans to expand to 100 dealerships by the end of May 2025. The company expects this expansion to result in an additional 400 three-wheeler unit sales during the same period while creating employment for 400 to 500 individuals across regions.
ZELIO’s current dealership presence spans Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. With the new expansion, the company will extend operations to include Uttarakhand, Delhi, Assam and West Bengal. The aim is to make electric mobility more accessible in urban and semi-urban regions, especially for last-mile transport solutions which remain under-served in many parts of the country.
The expansion will focus on ZELIO’s flagship models, the Tanga Butterfly and the Tanga SS, both of which were introduced in December 2024 and showcased at the EV India Expo 2024 in New Delhi. The Tanga Butterfly is made with Mild Steel while the Tanga SS is constructed using Stainless Steel, catering to different durability preferences. Both models are powered by a 1200W motor, offering a top speed of 30 kilometres per hour and a range of 100 kilometres on a single charge.
Buyers can choose between two battery types: a 48/60V 140Ah Lead-Acid battery or Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) options of 51V 105Ah or 153Ah. Charging time for all variants is about 8 hours. This ensures the vehicles are suitable for daily commercial operations such as local transport or small-scale delivery services.
