Yokohama India has reinforced its local manufacturing capabilities by introducing the production of 20-inch tyres at its advanced facility in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. This move is aimed at addressing the growing demand for larger tyres, particularly in response to the increasing popularity of SUVs and premium vehicles in India.
The tyre features an asymmetric tread pattern, advanced silica compounds, and a 2-ply sidewall, providing enhanced grip, durability, and a smooth driving experience. The Geolandar X-CV is now available across Yokohama India’s extensive network of over 3,000 retailers nationwide.
This expansion follows Yokohama India’s recent decision to localise the production of 19-inch tyres, marking another key milestone in the company’s efforts to meet evolving market trends. By strengthening its local manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to deliver high-performance, world-class tyre solutions that cater to the shifting demands of Indian motorists.
Gaurav Mahajan, Head of Marketing, Yokohama India, highlighted that higher-inch tyres enhance handling and safety, as they accommodate advanced braking systems. He added that by expanding its production capabilities, Yokohama India is future-proofing its offerings and now has the capability to manufacture tyres up to 24 inches to serve the premium segment with cutting-edge, high-performance products.
