India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt Ltd. has marked a significant achievement with the production of one million units of Yamaha R15 at its Surajpur plant. Since its debut in 2008, the R15 has redefined performance motorcycling in India, embodying Yamaha’s racing DNA and delivering cutting-edge technology, track-inspired handling, and premium design.

The R15 has remained at the forefront of Yamaha’s premium strategy, with over 90% of its production catering to Indian customers, while also reinforcing India’s role as a key export hub. Over 16 years, the R15 has evolved across multiple generations, integrating liquid-cooled engines, Deltabox frames, VVA technology, traction control, and quick shifters, keeping it ahead in the supersport segment.
