Nissan has presented the details of how meticulously its Arya was tested to achieve the highest levels of performance, comfort and control for a better driving experience on roads across the world.
At Nissan’s proving ground in Hokkaido, Japan, a team of veteran engineers reviewed and refined each element’s performance in Arya, from acceleration and sharp handling to overall quietness and ride comfort.
The rigorous development regime used a global approach to meet the best-level needs of drivers from around the world. It was possible as the winding tarmac at the Hokkaido proving ground is designed to simulate roads in other regions, including Europe.
Ariya was also tested in Europe to show its performance capabilities in the local driving environments like tight corners, fast motorways and mountain roads.
Nissan’s vehicle assessment specialists in Japan and the research and development technicians at the Nissan Technical Centre in Cranfield, the UK, shared insights and made suitable changes for the European customer needs and regulations.
“Creating the Nissan Ariya has been a highly intricate but incredibly rewarding journey. As part of this process, we collaborated with our colleagues in Japan by inputting the European customer requirements in the early development stages and making the final product validation on European roads,” Ian Shepherd, Project Management Director, Nissan Technical Centre Europe, said.
“Through these insights and our colleagues’ detailed testing programme, we are confident that Ariya will exceed our customers’ expectations,” he added.
