It is expected to be launched in India by the end of the year

Generic Data

The Hyundai Alcazar has done some pretty impressive numbers in the three years that it's been on sale. With the exception of the Toyota Innova, the average sales as you reach this point of the market is a maximum of 1,000-1,200 units per month, and the Alcazar has done quite well in that regard. On paper at least, Hyundai doesn’t need to do much for the Alcazar to keep it running strong but this is Hyundai we are talking about and they are not one to sit down and let the numbers roll in.

A facelift of the Alcazar is on the cards and it has been spotted doing the rounds in India. The latest images indicate that it will get a new face, wheels, and light package. While the exterior may be different, the cabin and features will be shared with the updated Creta, with an emphasis on the word ‘shared’. This means the updated Alcazar will get a 360-degree camera package, a new digital cluster, powered front seats, Level 2 ADAS, an updated Bluelink system, and a rear seat package. However, its engines will remain unchanged with a 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel on offer. Both engines get AT and MT options.

Generic Data

Alcazar sold 28,664 units in its first year, 38,394 units in its second year, and 31,873 units in the last fiscal year. Obviously, the second year marked its best performance, while the drop last year can be attributed to various factors such as price hikes due to the advent of BS6 2 as well as the upgrading of safety features across the range. The car is also exported as the LWB Creta mainly to markets in the Gulf region. All of Alcazar’s rivals underwent an update last year. This includes the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, and the Tata Safari. And as things stand with each of them, the Alcazar has quite a good chance to make a strong statement.
