The India-made Volkswagen Taigun has achieved a five-star safety rating from Latin NCAP. As per the crash test reports, the SUV scored 92% in adult and child protection each, while in pedestrian safety, it scored 55%, and in terms of safety assist systems, it scored 83%.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, noted that the 5-star rating earned by the Volkswagen Taigun comes close to a similar 5-star Latin NCAP rating for the Volkswagen Virtus.

In fact, all the India 2.0 models - Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, along with Škoda Kushaq and Slavia have also received the prestigious Global NCAP 5-star ratings for both adult and child occupant protection, making them the safest made-in-India cars.

The Taigun gets exported to over 61 countries from India. “This is a testament to the VW Group’s commitment to offer world-class safety to our customers. Made for and in India but exported across the world, the VW Taigun is an excellent example of what the campaign to #MakeInIndia is capable of. We continue to be committed to bringing Indian buyers the highest quality products that are on par with what’s available to global markets,” Arora added.
