Volkswagen India has launched the First Anniversary Edition of the Taigun SUV, as it completes one year in the Indian market. In total, VW India has sold over 22,000 units of the Taigun, and has 18,000 more orders to be delivered.
The First Anniversary Edition is offered on the Dynamic Line, Topline variant available on the 1.0 TSI MT & AT, and will be available in the new ‘Rising Blue’ shade along with Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red.
The Taigun now gets the “1st” anniversary badging across the exterior and interior in addition to 11 specially developed elements, such as high lux fog lamps, body-coloured door garnish, black C-pillar graphics, black roof foil, door-edge protector, black ORVM caps, window visors along with aluminium pedals.
The Volkswagen Taigun is available in two engine options – the 1 litre TSI engine with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option that delivers peak power of 115 PS (85 kW) and peak torque of 178 Nm @ 1,750-4,500 rpm. The 1.5 litre TSI EVO engine, on the other hand, is equipped with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG transmission option, delivering peak power of 150 PS (110 kW) and peak torque of 250 Nm @ 1,600-3,500 rpm. The 1.5L TSI EVO engine also comes equipped with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and engine idle start/stop technology.
