Volvo Cars India has claimed that its XC40 Recharge has captured 25% of the market share in the luxury EV segment, with 241 units sold in January-June 2023 period, as per the VAHAN portal data.
Launched in November 2022 as a locally produced e-SUV, 365 Volvo XC40 Recharge units have been delivered to date.
Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, said, “The XC40 Recharge is currently the only EV model in our portfolio and as such having a twenty five percent share is a reflection of the confidence that our customers have reposed in the brand.”
The e-SUV is offered with the twin motor setup placed at each axle with a total output of 408hp and 660Nm of torque. The vehicle gets energy from a 78kWh lithium-ion battery pack placed on the floorboard.
