Volvo Group India recently hosted a STEM education workshop at Kendriya Vidyalaya, DRDO, Bangalore, reinforcing its commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry while encouraging young girls to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
The Yukti workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 240 students from Grades VIII & IX. The event was graced by Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director of Volvo Group India, and Radhika Nair, Head of People & Culture at Volvo Group India. Conducted by a team of Volvo Group India volunteers, the workshop introduced students to cutting-edge STEM applications through interactive, hands-on activities.
Students engaged in:
- A Virtual Reality (VR) Experience, offering a realistic driving simulator and insights into Volvo’s advanced automotive technologies.
- Engines and Problem-Solving Activities, where students worked with miniature engines, applied data science, and tackled STEM-based puzzles.
- An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, demonstrating real-world applications in the automotive industry.
- A Robotics Workshop, allowing participants to design, build, and program robots using Volvo’s innovative technologies.
Bali emphasised Volvo Group India’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and technology-driven workforce. “Through initiatives like Yukti, we are inspiring young girls to explore careers in STEM, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. By working closely with educational institutions, we are creating a future-ready talent pool that will drive innovation and growth in our industry.”

The Kendriya Vidyalaya workshop is part of Volvo Group India’s larger vision to drive impactful change in STEM education. By providing young minds with practical exposure to technology and real-world problem-solving, Volvo aims to equip the next generation with industry-relevant skills.
