Volvo Car India Crosses 1,000 EV Deliveries Milestone

The company's EV journey began in November 2022 with the delivery of its first XC40 Recharge, the first locally assembled luxury electric SUV in India.

Volvo Car India announced today that it has delivered over one thousand electric vehicles (EVs), marking a significant milestone in its journey toward electrification.

Volvo Car India now offers three EV models: the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge, and the single motor XC40 Recharge, all sold through its Online Direct Sales model.

“On the occasion of World Environment Day, we are happy to announce that Volvo Car India has delivered over 1,000 EVs. This achievement is another milestone on our journey towards becoming an all-electric company by 2030. Our robust progress reflects the strong customer confidence our cars command and our commitment to growing the luxury EV market in India,” said Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India.

In 2023, Volvo Car India saw a remarkable 31% increase in overall sales compared to 2022, with the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge accounting for 28% of total sales. Volvo Car India is committed to launching one electric vehicle every year, aiming to transition its entire portfolio to electric vehicles by 2030.

Volvo Cars established its presence in India in 2007 and currently markets its products through 25 dealerships across the country.
