Volvo Car India has achieved a significant milestone with the production of its 10,000th car at its manufacturing facility in Bangalore, which is its first pure electric offering, the XC40 Recharge.

Managing Director of Volvo Car India, Jyoti Malhotra, expressed pride in reaching this milestone despite the challenges posed by almost three years of pandemic disruptions. He credited the company's commitment to India's luxury mobility segment and commended Volvo Car India's entire ecosystem for making this achievement possible.

Gao Feng, Production Head of Volvo Car India, highlighted the significance of rolling out the 10,000th car as a major achievement for the plant. Since 2017, the company has steadily increased capacities and conducted skill upgrades to meet customer demands successfully. The plant takes pride in assembling electric vehicles (EVs), having rolled out India's first domestically assembled EV, the XC40 Recharge.

Currently, the company locally assembles all its models in India, including XC90, XC60, S90, XC40 Recharge, and the recently launched C40 Recharge. Presently, the company markets its products through 25 dealerships across key cities in India.
