Volkswagen India has announced that its Virtus sedan has crossed the milestone of 50,000 domestic wholesale units in just 28 months since its launch. The Virtus’ impressive sales performance reinforces its popularity among Indian customers, thanks to its strong performance, advanced features, and high safety standards.

Volkswagen’s India 2.0 models, which include the Virtus and Taigun, have played a pivotal role in the company’s overall sales success. Both models contributed significantly to Volkswagen India surpassing the one lakh domestic sales mark in the second quarter of this year.

The brand’s larger milestone includes crossing 6.5 lakh domestic wholesales in India by the end of the third quarter of 2024. The India 2.0 models, including the Virtus, accounted for 18.5% of these domestic sales in just over three years since the introduction of the Taigun.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, highlighted that the Virtus has managed to maintain its sales momentum despite challenges in the segment.
