Volkswagen India today released the Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport, enhancing its portfolio with sportier and more technologically advanced versions of its popular Taigun model. This launch is part of Volkswagen's strategic move to capitalise on the growing demand for high-performance vehicles in the Indian market.
The Taigun GT Line, priced at INR 14.08 lakh for the manual transmission and INR 15.63 lakh for the automatic, is designed to attract buyers with its black-themed sporty interiors and exteriors, R17 alloy wheels, and a 1.0l TSI turbocharged engine. It also features a 25.65cm touchscreen infotainment system, darkened LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and comes standard with six airbags, highlighting Volkswagen's commitment to safety alongside style.
On the higher end, the Taigun GT Plus Sport starts at INR 18.53 lakh for the manual version and INR 19.73 lakh for the 7-speed DSG model. It is equipped with the 1.5l TSI EVO engine, known for its exceptional performance and efficiency. This model emphasises sportiness with significant exterior and interior enhancements, offering a total of 19 exterior and 15 interior features that set it apart in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.
Both models are a testament to Volkswagen's dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction. The vehicles are part of the newly introduced 'Sport' line structure, unveiled at the Volkswagen Annual Brand Conference 2024. This new line aims to meet the evolving preferences of Indian consumers, offering more personalised options and a comprehensive approach to sporty design and performance.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, remarked on the launch, 'The introduction of the Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport represents a significant evolution of our offerings, providing Indian consumers with access to high-performance models that do not compromise on safety or style. In addition to their sporty credentials, both variants come with a complimentary 4-year Service Value Package (SVP), ensuring a worry-free ownership experience. With deliveries set to commence in April 2024, Volkswagen India is poised to strengthen its position in the compact SUV segment, offering products that are not only fun to drive but also economically viable in terms of maintenance and service. This strategy underscores Volkswagen’s commitment to blending performance with practicality, aiming to cater to the sophisticated demands of Indian car buyers.
