Global mobility technology company, Visteon on Friday inaugurated its new expanded technical centre in Goa with a seating capacity of 50 and potential for further expansion.
According to a press release from the company, the new centre will contribute to the development of advanced technologies in the areas of cybersecurity, Android-based infotainment, AUTOSAR, driver awareness systems, and autonomous vehicle solutions for regional and global customer applications.
Alongside, the company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two universities in Goa, including Goa College of Engineering and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering to foster collaboration between industry and academia.
It plans to fill the majority of its open positions with graduates from local universities, the release added.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by delegates from the Government of Goa, including Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, and Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Information Technology, Tourism, Printing & Stationery, Govt of Goa, along with Sachin Lawande, President and CEO, Visteon and other members from the executive team and India leadership team.
Lawande said, “We will work with the universities to develop internship programmes and prepare students for their professional journey.”
