Veera Vahana, a prominent player in the bus industry, has partnered with energy-tech company Exponent Energy to launch the Veera Mahasamrat EV, a 13.5m long-haul intercity electric bus.

Powered by Exponent's 320 kWh battery pack, the Mahasamrat EV utilises Exponent's advanced technology stack, which includes a Battery Management System (BMS), optimised charging algorithms, and an off-board thermal management system that ensures consistent performance even in extreme temperatures.

The E-bus is designed to reduce operating expenses for fleet owners by 30% compared to traditional diesel buses. With a battery warranty covering 6,00,000 km or 3,000 battery cycles, the bus promises better financing options and easier ownership.

The companies are initially focusing on electrifying the Bengaluru-Hyderabad route, with Exponent Energy deploying four 1 MW charging stations—two at each endpoint and two along the highway—to ensure seamless operations for bus operators.

K Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director of Veera Vahana, said, 'Our partnership with Exponent mimics the diesel bus experience, allowing operators to switch to electric with the same convenience and greater savings.'

Arun Vinayak, Co-founder and CEO of Exponent Energy, said, 'With our 15-minute rapid charging technology and network, we're committed to making electric transportation accessible across India.'
