VECV & Baidyanath LNG Partner mobility outlook

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Baidyanath LNG Private Limited for the deployment of 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The launch of these trucks was marked by a flag-off ceremony conducted by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, at the newly inaugurated Baidyanath LNG station in Nagpur.

The MOU signifies a collaborative effort to expand the network of LNG stations across strategic locations in Central India, a move that is expected to accelerate the development of green trucking routes. This initiative is seen as a vital step in transitioning the long-haul transport segment towards cleaner fuel alternatives.

Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, highlighted the importance of LNG as a key fuel for sustainable long-haul transportation. He expressed confidence in the partnership with Baidyanath LNG, noting that the introduction of these state-of-the-art vehicles will encourage transporters in Maharashtra to consider LNG as a viable and eco-friendly option.

The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck is powered by a VEGX8 6-cylinder engine, leveraging Volvo Group’s globally proven technology. The engine delivers 260 HP at 2200 rpm and 1000 Nm of torque between 1100-1800 rpm, ensuring robust performance. With dual tanks providing a range of up to 1100 kilometres, the truck is designed for long-haul efficiency while offering best-in-class fuel tank safety and protection against fuel theft.

Gagandeep Singh Gandhok, EVP of HD Trucks - Sales and Marketing at VECV, emphasised the truck’s advanced telematics solutions, which are connected to an industry-first uptime centre, providing remote and predictive diagnostics to enhance customer experience.

The deployment of these LNG trucks is supported by VECV's network of over 850 touchpoints, including 425 authorised service centres and 8000 retail centres. The company also offers 'Eicher Site Support' at more than 240 locations across the country, ensuring seamless service and support for all Eicher truck and bus customers.
