The Indian arm of the French automotive electrification technology company, Valeo, will supply its e-motors to Omega Seiki Mobility’s (OSM) vehicle range. According to the MoU signed by both the companies, Valeo will provide its 48V electric powertrain system (reducer, integrated motor and inverter) along with the Powertrain Control Unit for OSM’s cargo three-wheelers - Rage+ and Rage+ Frost. In addition, the company's engineers will provide the technology integration support to help the vehicle maker address the market quickly. Both the companies have decided to collaborate further for the upcoming vehicle models to be manufactured by OSM in India.Last year Valeo introduced a fully integrated compact 48V electric powertrain system in India to aid affordable electrification for two and three-wheelers.Jayakumar G, Group President, Valeo India, said OSM would benefit from its deep understanding of the electrification technologies and the unique needs of integrating electric powertrain in the small mobility format of vehicles. He is confident that its advanced technologies, strong engineering combined with manufacturing expertise in India will help strengthen its partnership and succeed together in this rapidly growing segment.
