Valeo has taken a significant step forward in advancing India’s electrification journey with the launch of its new manufacturing and assembly lines in Pune.
The state-of-the-art facility will produce the company's highly integrated 3-in-1 Combo unit—comprising an On-Board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter, and Power Distribution Unit (PDU)—marking a major milestone in Valeo’s commitment to supporting the country’s xEV transition. Designed for use in a range of xEV models, this new system will play a crucial role in making electric mobility in India more accessible, efficient, and scalable.
With this investment, Valeo is boosting domestic value addition and strengthening its local manufacturing footprint. The new facility underscores the company’s support for the government’s Make in India initiative, offering cost-competitive, locally built solutions tailored for Indian electric vehicle manufacturers.
The inauguration of the facility was led by Xavier Dupont, CEO of Valeo’s Power Division and Group Executive Vice President, along with Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director, Valeo India. “At Valeo, we are committed to supporting xEV growth in India. By investing in new production capabilities, we are proud to contribute to Make in India,” said Dupont.
Jayakumar G added, “This achievement reflects the strong collaboration between our global and India teams. As India accelerates its xEV transformation, Valeo remains focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions for a sustainable future.”
The new lines in Pune integrate smart manufacturing, automation, and sustainable practices. By localising key components of EV power electronics, Valeo aims to reduce import dependency, streamline supply chains, and help OEMs scale up xEV adoption more efficiently.
