Valeo has announced the expansion of its Group Technical Centre (GTC) in Chennai, India, underscoring its commitment to technology and innovation. The new state-of-the-art infrastructure, named GTC II, is located on the 3rd floor at the Pacifica Tech Park in Navalur, Chennai, and features over 1,000 workstations, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)/Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) farms, and a cybersecurity test lab.
Inaugurated on January 31, 2024, by R. Velusamy, President, Automotive Technology and Product Development, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the expansion aims to consolidate Valeo's Software and Systems workforce in Chennai, providing a dynamic workplace to attract top talent, foster collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
Valeo's Group Technical Centre in Chennai and its satellite centre in Bangalore serve as hubs for research, development, and innovation, bringing together over 3,700 engineering talents from across India. The centre actively collaborates with top engineering institutions for cutting-edge research and building competencies in niche areas to fuel innovation.
Xavier Dupont, Valeo Powertrain Systems and Thermal Systems Business Groups President, expressed pride in opening a new Technical Centre for Software & Systems in Chennai. He emphasised Valeo's leading role in electrification and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) revolutions.
Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director, Valeo India, highlighted the milestone in Valeo's journey in India. He stated, 'This expansion in software and systems will cater to the increasing demand from our customers for new technologies in Electrification, ADAS, and Software Defined Vehicles.'
Valeo's presence in India began 25 years ago, and the company now boasts over 7,000 employees, including 3,700 engineers, 8 production sites, and a global R&D centre.
