Upcoming Road Safety Workshop mobility outlook

On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Asian Road Safety Academy will host a workshop titled 'Strengthening Capacity for Research and Practice in Road Safety through Media.' The event will take place at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi from 13:00 to 17:00 hrs and aims to bridge the gap between road safety research and media practices.

The conference is focused on three primary objectives: enhancing research skills among media professionals, promoting the exchange of best practices between media and road safety experts, and building the capacity of media to effectively communicate evidence-based road safety messages. By achieving these goals, the workshop seeks to empower media professionals, researchers, advocates, and policymakers with the tools and knowledge necessary to advance road safety initiatives.

Participants in the workshop will engage in interactive sessions designed to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration. These sessions will cover a range of topics, including research methods, data science applications in road safety, advocacy strategies, evidence synthesis, and the communication of specific injury types. The emphasis will be on developing skills for compelling advocacy and informed communication, with the ultimate aim of creating a network committed to advancing road safety through evidence-based practices and effective media engagement.

This pre-conference workshop, part of the broader #safety2024 initiative, offers a unique opportunity for professionals in the media and road safety sectors to collaborate and contribute to safer roads through informed and impactful communication.
