In a bid to enhance motorcycle safety and reduce the risks associated with forgetting to retract the side stand while rushing off, Uno Minda has introduced a cutting-edge line of side stand sensors and switches specifically designed for the Indian market.

Failing to retract the side stand is a common cause of motorcycle accidents in India, often resulting in severe injuries and, tragically, even fatalities. Uno Minda's new range of products tackles this critical issue by disengaging the engine circuit when the side stand is in an unsafe position, thus guaranteeing rider safety. The sensor's instrument console features an LED indicator that illuminates when the side stand is incorrectly positioned, alerting the rider to the hazard while the vehicle is in motion.

Anand Kumar, Head of Product & Strategy, Aftermarket Domain at Uno Minda, emphasized the company's commitment to customer safety and its dedication to promoting local manufacturing. He mentioned 'Uno Minda's commitment to customer safety led to the development of side stand sensors and switches as part of our new technology initiative. Road safety is our top priority, and side stand sensors play a crucial role in preventing accidents. Uno Minda's side stand sensors are engineered for durability on India's challenging terrains.'

Rigorously tested for longevity, including up to 3 lakh cycles, they can withstand the harsh conditions of Indian roads and extreme weather. The Side Stand Sensors and Switches are available at leading online and offline retail stores, with prices starting at INR 172. To further underscore their commitment to customer satisfaction, Uno Minda offers a 2-year warranty from the manufacturing date on these life-saving products.
