Uno Minda Limited, a global Tier-1 supplier of automotive systems and solutions to OEMs, has announced significant expansion plans in Indonesia and India.
The company’s subsidiary, PT Minda Asean Automotive (PTMA), has secured new orders, including long tail lamps for passenger cars in Indonesia. To meet this increased demand, Uno Minda will establish a new manufacturing facility in Indonesia, set to be operational by Q4 FY26.
Uno Minda has been a key player in the Indonesian market since 2005, supplying components to major two-wheeler OEMs. The new plant will allow Uno Minda to diversify its product offerings and cater to the growing passenger car market. Following its commissioning, the existing plant will be relocated to the new site, consolidating operations and enhancing economies of scale. The total investment for the new Indonesian facility is estimated at Rs 210 crore.
In India, Uno Minda is also expanding its domestic capacities. Uno Mindarika Private Ltd (UMRPL), a key subsidiary, recently established a new plant in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, Haryana. Phase 1 includes facilities for automotive switch components. In Phase 2, UMRPL plans to relocate its existing plant from Manesar, Haryana to Farrukhnagar with an investment of INR 120 crore. This phased relocation, expected to complete by Q3 FY27, aims to ensure uninterrupted supply and flexibility for future growth.
Additionally, Uno Minda’s joint venture, Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt Ltd, through its subsidiary Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt Ltd, will set up a new plant in Harohalli, Karnataka.
