Ultraviolette has started testing production trials of its upcoming F77 electric motorcycle. The TVS Motors-backed start-up is doing this trial near its manufacturing facility in Bangalore.

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette Automotive, recently told Mobility Outlook  that the deliveries of the F77 electric bike will start in a few weeks. The recent F77 trials event was attended by some of Ultraviollete's key suppliers, including SACL, Minda, Gabriel, Fiem, Brembo, and Bosch.

To be priced over INR 300,000, the Ultraviolette F77 will be retailed in three variants: Airstrike, Laser, and Shadow. This electric bike, featuring three batteries, will come equipped with battery-swap capabilities to help return a range of over 180 km. Subramanium had earlier told that the F77 might feature up to 200 km range.

Capable of producing a peak power of over 33bhp and 90Nm of torque, it is claimed that F77 can reach a maximum speed of 147 km/hr and accelerate from zero to 60 kmph in about three seconds and from zero to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds.

The start-up claims to have clocked 70,000 pre-orders for its first electric motorcycle from 190 countries. A majority, 85%, of these pre-orders have been from India.
