Two Top Executives Leave Hyundai Motor India

Last week, the company announced that Unsoo Kim will take up the Managing Director position at HMI from Seon Seob Kim, who will lead a global role at Hyundai Motor Company HeadQuarters, Seoul, after his successful stint of three years in India.

Soon after spelling out its electric vehicle strategy, South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor India sees the exit of two top executives - Vikas Jain, Vice President, National Sales Head, and Gursharan Dhillon AVP, Strategy and Planning, Hyundai India, according to the Mobility Outlook sources. 

One of the sources on the condition of anonymity said contracts of both top executives were ended as they were nearing retirement age.  Vikas Jain was appointed as Assistant Vice President - National Sales Head in April 2017. 

He was later promoted to Vice President - National Sales Head in 2020. He has joined Hyundai Motor India after six years of service at General Motors, where he worked as Director of sales. 

While Gursharan Dhillion joined Hyundai Motor India in late 2019 after an 11 years-long stint at Honda Cars India. 

At Honda, he was responsible for product planning. In addition, he was responsible for the product offensive strategy of the company and was involved in the launch of Honda Brio, Jazz, MPV BR-V and Mobilio. 

Last week, the company announced that Unsoo Kim will take up the Managing Director position at HMI from Seon Seob Kim, who will lead a global role at Hyundai Motor Company HeadQuarters, Seoul, after his successful stint of three years in India.  

Seon Seob Kim has been appointed as Executive Vice President / Head of the Global Operations Division. He has accomplished strong business results in India through flexible production amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

As the Head of the Global Operations Division, he will further strengthen the Group’s regional headquarters system and boost synergy between the regions.
