TVS Motor Company has introduced its latest innovation, the TVS RT-XD4 engine platform, on the opening day of TVS MotoSoul 4.0. The new platform draws inspiration from the company’s racing heritage and offers high performance, refinement, and precision for a superior riding experience.

Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, highlighted the significance of the new engine platform, saying, “The TVS RT-XD4 represents a major milestone in our journey to create unique and compelling riding experiences. Designed and developed at our R&D Centre in Hosur, it showcases our engineering and research capabilities, which are fuelled by decades of racing exposure and user insights.”

The RT-XD4 platform features four dual technologies that enhance performance and reliability:

  • Dual Overhead Cams with downdraft port for high revs and superior peak performance.
  • Dual oil pump with split chamber crankcase for optimal lubrication and torque delivery.
  • Dual cooling jacket cylinder head for improved cooling and performance output.
  • Dual breather system to reduce oil consumption and prevent contamination for consistent long-term performance.

The first engine in this new platform, the RT-XD4 300, offers:

  • 299.1 cc single-cylinder forward-inclined engine.
  • 35 PS power output at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm.
  • Liquid-cooled system with dual cooling (water and oil jackets).
  • Ride-by-wire throttle system and assist-and-slipper clutch.

The first day of TVS MotoSoul 4.0 saw a blend of innovation, creativity, and camaraderie. Highlights included custom motorcycle builds based on the TVS Apache RTR 310 and TVS RONIN, developed in collaboration with Smoked Garage (Indonesia) and the TVS Motor Factory Team. Thrilling racing formats like dirt track and flat track races, along with stunt competitions and moto-art displays, engaged attendees throughout the day.

Adding to the excitement, two riders, Syed Asif Ali and Shamin Khan, achieved recognition in the Asia Book of Records for completing a 6,300-kilometer journey on the Golden Quadrilateral using the TVS NTORQ.

Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium at TVS Motor Company, described MotoSoul 4.0 as a celebration of the brand’s creativity, innovation, and rider spirit. “This event showcases not only our revolutionary RT-XD4 platform but also the unity of biker communities and diverse art forms.
