Trontek, one of India's largest EV battery manufacturers, has announced it has received AIS-156 (Rev 3, Ph 1) certification for its entire range of Li-ion batteries.
It has become one of the first companies in the country to have its complete range of li-ion batteries AIS-certified, in compliance with the EV battery standards set by MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways).
A press note issued by the company noted that the revised AIS-156 battery norms required changes in the battery in terms of design, BMS, and charger, as well as the process of traceability of each battery concerning items used inside.
Samrath Kochar, Founder & CEO, Trontek, said that the company is ready for the second phase and will send the batteries for testing accordingly.
He added, “It gives us immense pride as a make-in-India company to receive the latest AIS-156 certification for our entire range of e-2W and e-3W li-ion batteries. Tech innovation by battery manufacturers is crucial to the success of the Indian EV revolution.”
