Rivals the Kawasaki Ninja 650

Triumph Motorcycles is all set to launch the new Daytona 660 in India soon. The company used its social media platforms to announce the commencement of production of the Daytona 660 for the Indian market.

The Triumph Daytona 660 bears an iconic name as the previous Daytona 675 was acclaimed for its three-cylinder engine and incredible chassis. The Daytona 660, however, isn’t as focused as its namesake as it aims to target a wider audience, those who want a bike with everyday practicality but sporty enough to keep them entertained.

Dwelling on the details of the bike, the Daytona 660 is based on Triumph's Trident 660 roadster platform. It however, has a three-cylinder engine that makes more power and torque than the Trident’s 95bhp and 69Nm to be precise.

The chassis consists of a steel perimeter frame, suspended by a 41mm USD fork and a preload adjustable monoshock.

The styling of the bike is reminiscent of the previous Daytona, evident in the sharp-looking fairing that gels with the rest of the bodywork. That said, the rider’s ergonomics aren’t as committed as the Daytona 675. This makes it more suited to everyday use.

Triumph India’s dealers have already begun accepting bookings for the Daytona 660. The bike is expected to be priced around the Rs 9-10 lakh mark and will go up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
