Tresa Motors has showcased the VO.2 electric truck, a successor to its previous model that promises to push the boundaries of engineering, efficiency, and reliability in the heavy-duty vehicle segment. This latest iteration represents a significant leap forward in Tresa Motors' commitment to delivering cutting-edge, sustainable transportation solutions.
The VO.2, an 18-tonner electric truck, embodies a suite of advanced technological features that distinguish it as a frontrunner in the industry. At the heart of its innovation is India's first and a global frontrunner, the Centralised Computing Unit (CCU), powered by NVIDIA GPU technology. This system consolidates the functions of multiple Electronic Control Units (ECUs) into a single, powerful entity, streamlining the truck's operations and enhancing its performance and safety through real-time analytics.
A standout feature of the VO.2 is its advanced telemetry system, which monitors over 500 data points, transmitting them to the cloud for continuous analysis. This allows for an unprecedented level of insight into the vehicle's performance, facilitating ongoing improvements in efficiency and reliability.
Moreover, the truck is equipped with 800V modular battery packs, designed in-house, featuring a bespoke Battery Management System (BMS). The charging efficiency is complemented by its modular Meg50 battery pack, which offers customisation based on payload requirements, presenting a versatile solution for various logistics needs. This innovation not only underscores Tresa's commitment to self-reliance but also sets a new standard in battery efficiency and longevity. The vehicle also debuts a novel central steering system and Tresa's proprietary Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), alongside a pioneering heat pump system catering to all cooling requirements, including cabin air-conditioning.
Rohan Shravan, the Founding CEO of Tresa Motors, articulates the company's vision with the launch of VO.2, highlighting the truck's role in testing and refining Tresa's innovative components on the road. With a keen focus on sub-system level energy consumption analysis, Tresa Motors aims to optimise the vehicle's heat pump, alongside its motor and battery, to carve out a niche for itself in the EV industry.
The VO.2 is not just about technical prowess; it also delivers on practicality and comfort. The truck features a central steering setup and an air-suspended seat, ensuring a comfortable drive. With a torque of 24000Nm and a top speed of 120kmph, it is designed to meet the rigorous demands of e-commerce transportation, offering a reliable, eco-friendly alternative to conventional diesel trucks.
