Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram and Zote Toyota, has inaugurated its 67th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the STAR Scholarship initiative at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aizawl, Mizoram.

The T-TEP initiative focuses on equipping final-year ITI and diploma students with industry-relevant skills through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training. The programme offers a comprehensive curriculum covering automotive fundamentals, cutting-edge technologies, and practical on-the-job experience at Toyota dealerships. It specifically targets students in the Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV) and Diesel Mechanic trades, with the aim of meeting the automotive sector's evolving requirements.

Zote Toyota, as a key partner, plays an integral role in supporting the programme by contributing to both T-TEP operations and the STAR Scholarship initiative. The STAR programme provides financial aid of up to INR 51,000 per year to economically disadvantaged students, covering educational expenses, hostel fees, and family support, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to technical education.

Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of State for Labour, Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, mentioned “This collaboration brings valuable resources and training to our students, enabling them to build successful careers in the automotive industry. It aligns with Mizoram’s vision for skill development and economic empowerment.”

Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, TKM, added “Empowering young minds with the right skills is essential for individual growth and national progress. Through initiatives like T-TEP and STAR, we aim to bridge the gap between education and employability, particularly for students in underserved regions.”
