Toyota launches New Vellfire At INR 1.19 Crore

The new launch is expected to elevate the positive demand that the Vellfire brand has established for itself over the last four years.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the new Vellfire minivan in India in two variants – the ‘Hi Grade’ at a starting price of INR 1.19 crore (ex-showroom, India) and the ‘VIP Grade – Executive Lounge’ at INR 1.29 crore. Deliveries of the vehicle is likely to commence from November onwards.

The new Vellfire is powered by a 2.5 litre inline four-cylinder DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine with a self-charging strong hybrid electric (SHEV) system that delivers 142 kW of peak power and 240 Nm of torque. The Vellfire claims to return an average of 19.28 kmpl. 

Toyota said studies have shown strong hybrid electric vehicles can run 40% of distance and 60% of time on electric or zero emission mode with engine off. 

Based on the company’s TNGA platform (GA-K), the exterior of the MPV gets refreshed looks with new sets of headlights and taillights along with new front grille, the interior gets refreshed with more features. The new platform claims to enhance rigidity by 50% over the third-generation models.

The new Vellfire gets massage function while the cabin also gets powered ‘pull-down side sun blinds’ with independently operable moonroof shades. Additionally, the cabin also gets 14-inch infotainment system with 15 JBL speakers, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility, while the Executive Lounge variant gets 14-inch rear seat entertainment.

In terms of connectivity features, the Vellfire gets 60 connected features, including emergency services, remote operations like vehicle start, air conditioning, window operations, vehicle diagnostics and driver monitoring alerts.

Equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, the Vellfire gets a robust package of safety features, including proactive driving assist features like pre-collision safety, adaptive cruise control, lane trace assist, adaptive high beam LED headlamps and blind spot monitor system. 

Atul Sood, Vice President – Sales and Strategic Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor noted that with this new launch, the company is confident to elevate the positive demand which the Vellfire brand has established for itself over the last four years.
