Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP) on Tuesday announced the proposed appointment of KN Prasad as its Managing Director. TKAP is a joint venture among Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Industries Corporation of Japan and Kirloskar Oil Engines of India.
Prasad, who currently serves as Senior Vice President at TKAP, will take over from incumbent MD, KG Mohan Kumar after his appointment by the Board of Directors in their meeting to be held in January 2022. Prasad will be responsible for strategic direction of TKAP’s operations in India.
Prasad brings with him rich experience in diverse areas covering production, engineering and quality and has in-dept sector knowledge and deep understanding of the evolving industry scenario, the company said.
Expressing gratefulness for the support and co-operation extended to him during the tenure at TKAP by its employees, customers, share-holders and supplier partners, Kumar said the organisation took large strides to achieve global competitiveness through its focus on continuous improvement, localisation, people development and environmentally sustainable manufacturing operations.

Having joined TKAP in 1998, Kumar was responsible for localisation of parts, equipment, and developing engineering talent for all product lines of the company.
A veteran with 33 years of total experience and over 20 years of experience at TKAP, Prasad expressed excitement at being given this opportunity to lead TKAP. “I am eagerly looking to take forward Toyota’s core values, build competitiveness and contribute towards company’s growth along with business sustainability.
