Toyota has opened bookings once again for the top-spec Innova Hycross ZX and ZX (O) variants. It had stopped taking bookings for these top-of-the-line variants in mid-2023 due to high demand and has now introduced the variant once again but now with a price hike too.
Features of the ZX variant include dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system with phone mirroring, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and an ottoman rear seat package. Over the ZX trim, the ZX (O) gets level-2 ADAS.
The ZX and ZX (O) variants can only be had with the hybrid setup that comprises a 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor mated to an e-CVT powering the front wheels. Toyota officially claims a mileage of 23.24kmpl for this powertrain.
The opening of bookings hints at a major development. The first is a rather obvious one which is that there’s a large demand for the top-spec models and Toyota has had to realign its production to ensure meets this demand and doesn’t lose out on potential orders. The other is that even after making a tectonic shift for the Innova I.e moving from body-on frame and diesel power to a monocoque front wheel drive petrol, the Innova brand has lost none of its steam.
