The Innova Hycross set the cash registers ringing for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) right from the day of its launch. The brand continues to witness high demand for the model, and more so for the top-spec ZX and ZX(O) variants.
In April 2023, Toyota put a temporary hold on the bookings of the ZX and ZX(O) variants in the Hycross range due to supply challenges faced by the carmaker. Almost a year later, the automaker reopened bookings, but this too was only a temporary move as it has stopped bookings once again.
While TKM has remained tight-lipped regarding the reason behind this move, it is likely to be due to the same reason as before. We tried reaching Toyota for a statement but had not received a response at the time of publishing this article. Simultaneously, it is no surprise that as of May 2024, the next corresponding top-spec variants, VX and VX(O), command a waiting period of up to 14 months!
For the uninitiated, the Hycross is also cross-badged with Maruti, where it is sold as the Invicto. The latter though, is sold exclusively in the entry-level and mid-spec variants corresponding to that of the Innova Hycross.
