Tijil Rao delivered an exceptional performance at the grand finals of the 27th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Competing in the Formula LGB4 category, Tijil showcased his skill and determination by winning Saturday's 15-lap race with a timing of 23:02.750 minutes putting him on the brink of securing the overall drivers’ championship. Tijil racing for Dark Don Racing edged out Saran Vikram from Momentum Sports and Dhruv Goswami from MSport, who finished second and third with timings of 23:03.725 and 23:04.504, respectively.
The action-packed day also featured the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup which provided thrilling moments for racing enthusiasts. Pondicherry’s Navaneeth Kumar clinched the top spot in a race shortened to six laps due to an accident, completing it in 7:48.397. Anish Shetty secured second place at 7:50.894, while Rohan R was classified third despite being involved in a crash that required track clearance.
Earlier, Rohan had demonstrated his skill by winning the first bike race of the day, completing nine laps in 11:44.984. Navaneeth Kumar and Anish Shetty followed closely, finishing in 11:45.320 and 11:45.470, respectively. The competition was fierce, with riders and drivers battling unpredictable conditions, adding to the spectacle of the championship.
