With this partnership, auto-rickshaw drivers not only receive support to switch from driving old pollutive vehicles to EVs, but they will also get all the required support from TWU and Piaggio to operate these vehicles hassle-free and increase their earnings.

Bengaluru-based tech-enabled financier of light electric vehicles Three Wheels United (TWU) has partnered with Piaggio Vehicles to accelerate the adoption of E3Ws in India.

Under this partnership, TWU will immediately deploy 500 Piaggio Ape’ E City and Ape’ E-Xtra vehicles across India.

The financing company and the vehicle maker will jointly promote the adoption of Piaggio’s Ape’ E City and Ape’ E-Xtra. In addition, TWU will facilitate 3W passenger vehicle and cargo vehicle drivers to switch from the conventional vehicles EVs. 

Additionally, the company will connect these drivers to aggregator platforms. Piaggio will offer the necessary support for maintenance and servicing the vehicles, ensuring minimal downtime for operations.

The new Ape’ E-Xtra FX comes with a 9.5 kW power output. Moreover, it comes with complete metal body architecture fitted with six feet cargo deck. Besides, it is also customisable for applications like the delivery van, garbage collector, etc.
