The innings will begin with the Altroz Racer.

Tata Motors is all set to introduce three new cars in the coming months. After giving a refresh to select models in the budget segment, the company now has its eyes set on the premium model range. The automaker will make its debut in a new segment later this year, while also introducing a sportier iteration of its premium hatchback next month.

The Racer variant will sit right at the top of the Tata Altroz range. Unveiled back at the Auto Expo 2023, the car will be powered by a familiar 1.2-litre, turbo-petrol motor, albeit in a higher state of tune – 118bhp and 170Nm. It will also get a host of feature additions including an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, new 10.25-inch screen, revised instrument cluster, and more.

The next product is nothing short of important for Tata, as it looks to enter a new segment, and it has chosen a new body style as well to stand out. This will be the Tata Curvv that will arrive in EV form, and will be followed by the ICE versions in the next few months. With this product, Tata will adopt an EV-first strategy, where each new model will first launch as an EV and then go into the ICE lineup.

The Curvv, with its coupe-SUV body style, will help Tata establish a unique identity in an already busy mid-size SUV segment that it will take on upon launch. Further, by launching an EV derivative to begin with, Tata will have a headstart in the segment, with competition such as the Creta EV, Elevate EV, and the Maruti eVX. Coming to the ICE-powered Curvv, which will arrive short on the heels of the EV version, Tata Motors is expected not just to match its rivals in terms of features, but also bring competitive pricing to further lure in potential customers.
