The SUVs are expected to be launched in India in the second half of CY 2025

Generic Data

An iconic brand from Tata will come back to the market in H2 of CY 2025. Yes we are talking about the Sierra SUV and it will arrive both in ICE and EV guise. The EV launch was an expected step but the fact that there is going to be an ICE version too is a new development.

We had been seeing the car in concept form for the last two years with various evolutions that, thankfully, include the signature glass rear roof. The EV version is expected to share its underpinnings with the Harrier EV while the ICE version will get the 2.0-litre diesel and upcoming 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol. Both the Harrier and Safari have the diesel while the petrol will arrive by the start of the next FY.

The Sierra will be Tata’s most iconic resurrection with almost a 24 year gap between the original model and the new age one. With the liberalised Indian car market crossing the 35 year mark in 2025, the Sierra in EV and ICE guise is expected to find buyers across multiple generations. It will be retailed via the Tata.ev showrooms of which Tata is on course to hit double digits by next year.
