Tata Power has reached a marked milestone by powering over 100 million green kilometres through its extensive electric vehicle (EV) charging network. This achievement marks a significant contribution to India's e-mobility growth and supports the government's vision of achieving annual EV sales of 10 million units by 2030.
As India strides towards reducing its carbon footprint, the government has been actively promoting electric mobility through various initiatives such as the FAME scheme and the National Electric Mobility Mission. Aiming for electric vehicles to constitute 30 percent of new vehicle sales by 2030, robust EV charging infrastructure is crucial.
The strategically placed EZ Charge stations cover key urban and intercity locations, including highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential complexes, significantly easing the adoption of electric vehicles by enhancing accessibility and convenience.
Tata Power's recent accolade as a 'Shoonya Infrastructure Champion' at the 2nd Annual Shoonya Forum highlights its pivotal role in promoting zero-emission mobility. The Shoonya campaign, initiated by NITI Aayog in 2021, involves various stakeholders like e-commerce platforms, ride-hailing services, and vehicle manufacturers to accelerate India's transition to a cleaner transport system.
Moreover, Tata Power is keeping pace with technological advancements in the EV sector by integrating customer-centric solutions such as RFID cards for seamless charging and wireless payments, further simplifying the EV charging experience.
