Tata will open 50 dedicated EV touchpoints over the next two years as a part of its expansion plans. These touchpoints are expected to include showrooms and 3S locations and will be focused on Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, which are seeing maximum demand for EVs.
The first two standalone facilities have already opened in Gurugram and currently retail the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV, and the Punch EV. These will be joined in the future by the Curvv EV, Harrier EV, Altroz EV, Sierra EV, and models from the Avinya family.
In addition to the touchpoints, it aims to expand its public charging facilities from 10,000 in FY24 to one lakh by FY30. The same plans are also being initiated for community charging facilities that currently stand at 4,300 in FY24 and will be ramped up to a lakh by FY30.
Tata is currently the largest legacy player in the EV race and has the largest market share and model line-up. Its further expansion plans are expected to increase its market share even further by the end of this decade.
