Tata Motors has announced that it has won an order to supply 1,000 bus chassis to the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The order awarded after a competitive e-bidding process through government tendering will see Tata Motors delivering its LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. Not sure why the push for CNG or electric busses is not catching up in UP, but these LPO 1618 diesel BSVI phase-2 busses are significantly cleaner than the diesels of yesteryear.
This latest order builds upon Tata Motors’ successful fulfilment of a similar contract last year, where the company supplied 1,350 bus chassis to UPSRTC. These vehicles have been operating effectively within the state’s public transport system contributing to improved intercity and long-distance travel. The Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis is designed to offer reliable performance, enhanced passenger comfort, and reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), making it a suitable choice for public transport.
Anand S, Vice President and Head of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, stated that the LPO 1618 bus chassis is engineered for high reliability, low maintenance, and efficient operation. The partnership aims to strengthen the public transport network in the state, providing robust and cost-effective mobility solutions. The company’s focus on delivering durable and efficient transport solutions aligns with the growing demand for improved public transport infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.
