Tata Motors has announced that it crossed the one lakh production mark of its sub-compact SUV, Punch, from the company's manufacturing facility in Pune.
Interestingly, the Punch achieved the milestone in just ten months since its launch in October 2021, a press release from Tata Motors said.
It must be noted that the Punch has sold over 41,794 units in FY23, with 11,007 units sold in July 2022.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, 'The Punch is our second product based on the ALFA architecture and has successfully established its popularity by creating a new segment and thereby reinforcing the four core pillars of a true SUV - stunning design, versatile and engaging performance, roomy and spacious interiors and absolute safety.'
Under the hood, the Punch features a 1.2-litre Revotron engine with Dynapro technology that provides good low-end torque. The AMT gearbox, meanwhile, comes with altitude-adjusted tuning maps that help the car provide optimal power output on high-altitude terrains. All Punch variants get the AMT option apart from the entry-level trim.
Additionally, Punch also gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto-fold ORVMs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic temperature control, semi-digital instrument cluster, amongst other features.
