Homegrown passenger EV maker Tata Motors on Tuesday announced the launch of the Nexon EV with updated features starting at INR 14.99 lakh ex-showroom, India, for the base XM trim level.
Available across the non-Max models, the update to EV includes Multi-Mode Regen, automatic brake lamp activation on regen, Cruise Control, indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), smartwatch integrated connectivity feature and charging timeout of 110 seconds.
Additionally, the company noted it will roll out these new features to the existing Nexon EV customers through a free-of-cost OTA. The update can be installed through the company’s service centres, it added.
Offered with an ARAI-certified 312 kms, the new EV features a 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor and is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Available in three paintwork options, including Signature Teal Blue, Glacier White Daytona Grey, the e-SUV comes with 35 Mobile App-based connected features, ranging from remote commands and vehicle tracking to driving behaviour analytics, navigation, and remote diagnostics.
Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, noted that the Nexon EV enjoys a market share of over 65%.
“With the Nexon EV Prime we expect to further strengthen our strategy of keeping our product offerings New Forever. Further with this software update to current owners we are setting new benchmark of what customers can expect as part of Tata EV ownership experience,” he added.
