Tata Motors has introduced its first automated manual transmission (AMT) truck Prima 4440.S AMT in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Launched at the Heavy Equipment and Trucks (HEAT) Show in Dammam, the truck is designed to meet the region’s demanding transportation needs while prioritising driver comfort and operational efficiency. The Prima 4440.S AMT is equipped with advanced features, robust engineering, and a Euro-V compliant 8.9-litre Cummins engine capable of delivering 400bhp and 1700Nm of torque making it suitable for heavy-duty applications such as container and car carrier transport.
Pneumatic suspension enhances ride quality, while a modern cabin with pneumatically suspended seats and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel ensures driver comfort on long hauls. The truck's durable automated transmission is designed to handle steep gradients and heavy loads with ease, contributing to higher productivity for operators.
Anurag Mehrotra, Head of International Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, noted that the Prima 4440.S AMT reflects Tata Motors’ focus on innovation and customer profitability, offering a reliable and cost-effective solution for transportation businesses.
Tata Motors showcased five advanced models at the HEAT Show, including the Prima 4040.T for fuel and water transportation, the Prima 4040.K for heavy-duty construction applications, and the Ultra T.7 for urban transportation. The Prima 4440.S AMT is supported by Tata Motors’ partnership with Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co, which ensures extensive after-sales support, skilled technicians, and easy access to genuine spare parts across Saudi Arabia.
