Indian carmaker Tata Motors on Monday launched the Altroz premium hatchback with the DCA transmission option across four trim levels - XM+, XT, XZ, and XZ+ at a starting price of INR 8.1 lakh ex-showroom, India.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 1.2L Revotron petrol engine, the new transmission features a planetary gear system along with a wet clutch with active cooling and shift by wire technology.
Additionally, the company claims to have filed 45 patents with the DCA transmission, including machine learning which examines the driving conditions and help for a jerk-free ride.
Besides, it also features a Self-Healing Mechanism to get rid of the dust particles from the transmission system and the Auto Park Lock feature, which automatically engages the park mode in the absence of the driver.
Available in the new shade of Opera Blue along with the Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue colour, the hatch features premium leatherette seats, auto headlamps, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, seven-inch TFT digital cluster, rear ac vents, and iRA connected car technology among other features. The Altroz DCA will also be available in the #Dark range.
