The partnership aims to install 250 fast-charging stations nationwide for commercial vehicles.

Tata Motors Collaborates With Delta & Thunderplus mobility outlook

Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd to significantly expand the charging infrastructure for its electric commercial vehicles. As part of this collaboration, 250 new fast-charging stations will be established across more than 50 cities, including major urban centres such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi. This development is expected to enhance the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points.

The expansion of charging infrastructure is timely as more e-commerce companies, parcel delivery services, and other industries are increasingly adopting electric vehicles (EVs) for last-mile deliveries to reduce their carbon footprints. Tata Motors will leverage its understanding of commercial EV movement to identify optimal locations for these new fast-charging stations, ensuring they are conveniently situated near dealerships and high-use routes. Delta Electronics will provide the necessary hardware, while Thunderplus Solutions will handle the installation and operation of the charging stations.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President and Business Head of SCV & PU at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, stated 'Expanding the charging infrastructure on key routes will encourage more businesses to adopt electric commercial vehicles, improving vehicle uptime and profitability while supporting environmental sustainability.'
