Strategic growth of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility aims to enhance EV ownership experience.

Tata Motors Bullish On EV Retail mobility outlook

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) has expanded its footprint in India’s electric vehicle market by unveiling two new EV-exclusive retail stores under the TATA.ev brand in Kochi, Kerala. Located in the areas of Edappally and Kalamassery, these premium stores are designed to offer a unique and upmarket experience tailored specifically to the evolving needs of the electric vehicle (EV) community.

Modern EV customers are no longer satisfied with traditional car sales models; they now seek a more personalised, informative, and community-focused experience. Tata Motors has responded to this shift by introducing the TATA.ev brand identity, which embodies the values of community, technology, and sustainability. The new retail stores are a physical manifestation of these values, offering customers a welcoming environment where they can receive guidance, information, and advice in a friendly and engaging manner.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, mentioned Kerala’s role as a leading market for electric mobility in India, with the state boasting an EV penetration rate of 5.6%. Chandra explained that the choice to establish these new stores in Kerala was influenced by the state's forward-thinking adoption of electric vehicles and its tech-savvy population. He noted that the discerning EV consumer now expects a premium ownership experience, and Tata Motors is committed to meeting this demand by not only making EVs more accessible to the mass market but also offering a sophisticated and digitised ownership journey.

In addition to the new retail stores, Tata Motors is planning to further enhance its presence in Kerala by opening five exclusive EV service centres across key cities in the state. These centres will complement the TATA.ev stores by providing dedicated after-sales support, ensuring that the entire ownership experience—from purchase to maintenance—is seamless and customer-focused.
