In a strategic move to expand its global presence and strengthen its position in the premium automotive segment, Tata AutoComp Systems Limited has signed definitive agreements to acquire up to 80% shareholding in Artifex Interior Systems Limited (formerly known as IAC UK).
The majority stake has been purchased from Jaguar Land Rover Ventures Limited, a subsidiary of Jaguar Land Rover Automotive plc, which is part of Tata Motors Limited.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Tata AutoComp, already a leading player in India’s automotive components space. By integrating Artifex’s advanced interior system technologies—including overhead systems, instrument panels, centre consoles, door panels, and trim solutions—Tata AutoComp aims to deepen relationships with global OEMs such as Jaguar Land Rover, BMW Mini, Bentley, INEOS, and Toyota, especially in the European passenger vehicle market.
Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman, Tata AutoComp Systems, said, “This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision of expanding our global footprint and strengthening our expertise in automotive interior systems. Artifex’s capabilities and established customer relationships will help us deliver differentiated solutions and drive long-term growth.”
Manoj Kolhatkar, Managing Director and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems, added, “Artifex’s technical expertise and advanced manufacturing capabilities enhance our technological leadership and reinforce our presence in the premium automotive segment.”
With this acquisition, Tata AutoComp not only consolidates its position as one of India’s largest automotive component manufacturers but also strategically strengthens its European footprint, further embedding itself within the Jaguar Land Rover supply chain and elevating its profile in the global automotive interiors market.
