Suzuki has announced it will showcase two special vehicles at the upcoming EICMA exhibition, presenting the GSX-8R CUP prototype and the all-new Suzuki Swift 8R. Both vehicles feature an eye-catching black and yellow livery connecting their design and performance to Suzuki's iconic racing heritage.
The GSX-8R CUP is a track-focused racing version of the GSX-8R which was first revealed at the Suzuki Motor Fest in Misano in May 2024. This performance model will be on display at EICMA. Alongside will be the debut of the Swift 8R, a one-off version of the popular Swift compact car designed to reflect the dynamic spirit of the GSX-8R motorcycle.
The Swift 8R mirrors the motorbike’s bold aesthetics with its black and yellow exterior. At 3.86 metres in length the Swift 8R combines sportiness with compact design, featuring muscular fenders and a distinctive roofline. The vehicle is powered by a 1.2-litre hybrid engine, delivering 81.6 bhp of power and keeping CO2 emissions as low as 99 g/km for the 2WD manual version. The hybrid system also supports fuel efficiency, ranging from 22.7 kmpl to 20.4 kmpl, depending on the drivetrain.
The GSX-8R CUP prototype draws inspiration from the GSX-8R. Renowned for its compact 776cc inline-twin engine produces 83 bhp and 78 Nm of torque. The CUP version includes specialised components such as fiberglass fairings, lowered handlebars, adjustable footrests, and a complete Akrapovic exhaust system. The prototype is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V3 SC1 tyres and a custom sticker kit to maximise track performance, making it an ideal machine for racing enthusiasts.
