Suzuki has unveiled its latest sportbike, the GSX-8R, which is designed to appeal to a wide range of riders with its combination of power, performance, and riding pleasure. The engine also features a 270-degree crankshaft design for a rumbling sound. Suzuki has introduced a cross balancer setup where one balancer cancels the primary vibration generated by the piston of the first cylinder, while another balancer cancels the primary vibration of the second cylinder thus smoothening the entire operation.
The GSX-8R's chassis is built around a rugged steel frame that contributes to comfort, straight-line stability, and nimble handling. The bike also features forged aluminium separate handlebars for positive control and a sporty riding position. The suspension is handled by Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) SFF-BP* (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) inverted front forks and a Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) link-type rear suspension.
The GSX-8R is equipped with a host of electronic control systems, including Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), Suzuki's ride-by-wire electronic throttle control system, Suzuki's Bi-directional Quick Shift System, and ABS. The bike also features a 5-inch colour TFT LCD multi-function instrument panel, vertically stacked hexagonal LED headlights, LED rear combination light, LED turn signals, and bold graphics.
The GSX-8R is available in a variety of body colours, including Pearl Glacier White, Glass Sparkle Black, and Metallic Triton Blue. The bike is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2024 globally, not a peep yet on Indian market though.
